Marketing & Outreach Intern

OCE-FA-24-4
Program Office/Description:

The New York State Summer School of the Arts (NYSSSA) is seeking a motivated and creative graduate-level outreach and marketing intern to assist in promoting our summer program for high school students. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in arts education promotion while making a meaningful impact on the community.

NYSSSA is currently comprised of three summer residential schools (Visual Arts, Media Arts, and Theatre) and looks forward to welcoming back the School of Choral Studies in 2025. 2024 was the first year back in operation after a hiatus due to the Covid pandemic. Pre-Covid, NYSSSA operated 7 schools across the state- Ballet, Modern Dance, Orchestral Studies, Choral Studies, Visual Arts, Media Arts, and Theatre. The schools offer intensive training, provided by nationally recognized artists and companies, to gifted high school students who represent the wide diversity of ethnic, social, cultural and economic backgrounds of all New Yorkers. Each school is an intensive month-long residential program for students who are considering careers in the arts and entertainment industries. In the Fall, in addition to closing out the season and conducting post-program assessments for the next year, this office is heavily recruiting students for early decision; building awareness of the program with parents, teachers, and community organizations in person and online; and planning for the upcoming summer program, including audition outreach, contracting with partner-organizations, and staff/faculty recruitment.
